Armed with an endless passion for music, a tireless work ethic, and an extensive musical education, Ciara Proznik is an award-winning Canadian film composer, arranger, and songwriter with an unstoppable determination. Ciara lives to evoke emotion in every piece she composes, and her biggest influencers are composers such as John Powell, Alexandre Desplat, Danny Elfman, John Debney, and Alan Silvestri.
In May 2018, she received the Rosie Award for “Best Original Musical Score Drama Under 30 Minutes” from the Alberta Media Production Industries Association for her work on Falling Through the Cracks: Greg’s Story, a dramatic short film based out of Calgary, Alberta. After relocating to Los Angeles to study Film Scoring at UCLA, she interned with Hans Zimmer’s team, Remote Control Productions. She most recently scored a dramatic film called Fresh Start, created by Canadian director Dana Thody, a silent horror film by the title of Hors D’Oeuvre, directed by the talented Aleksandra Svetlichnaya of the Dinnerverse Series, and an inspiring romantic film supporting the LGBTQ+ community called To You, created and directed by the spectacular Mary Ann Pianka.
Ciara has created pieces in an array of genres, including film scores, classical concert works, electronic-based music, musical theatre, pop, jazz, and country songs. She takes pride in her soaring melodies and unique harmonic patterns, and her diverse portfolio showcases her strong ability to compose music for any mood or style. Most of all, Ciara is passionate about bringing the artistic vision of every filmmaker to life through her music by creating the ideal emotional environment for the audience. She is an eager collaborator and looks forward to building her career in the Los Angeles film industry.
