Armed with an intense passion for music, a tireless work ethic, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition from MacEwan University, Ciara Proznik is a Canadian film composer, arranger, and songwriter with an unstoppable determination. Influenced by composers such as John Powell, Michael Giacchino, Alexandre Desplat, Danny Elfman, and Alan Silvestri, Ciara lives to inspire and evoke intense emotion in every piece she composes.

Ciara’s composing versatility has no boundaries. She has created pieces in a vast array of genres, including film scores, classical concert works, electronic-based music, and musical theatre, pop, jazz, and country songs. She takes pride in her soaring melodic lines and unique harmonic patterns, and her diverse portfolio showcases her strong ability to compose music for any mood or style. Most of all, she is passionate about bringing the artistic vision of every filmmaker to life through her music and creating the ideal emotional environment for the audience.

After a summer internship with Air Bud Entertainment in Vancouver, British Columbia, Ciara became the lead composer for the company’s children’s YouTube channel, Air Bud TV, which is currently filled with her compositions and arrangements. The number of channel subscribers continued to rise with every upload of her creations.

Recently, she collaborated with other artistic individuals to create the score for Falling Through the Cracks: Greg’s Story, a dramatic short film based out of Calgary, Alberta. This film was based on a true story and was created to inspire positive change and improvement in the Canadian healthcare system.

She is currently completing her certificate in Composing and Orchestrating for Film and TV from Berklee College of Music online, and is also looking forward to obtaining a Master’s Degree in screen scoring. She is always open to more collaborations and hopes to work with many other talented individuals in the near future.

Ciara lives to evoke emotion in every piece she composes, and her biggest influencers are composers such as John Powell, Alexandre Desplat, Danny Elfman, John Debney, and Alan Silvestri.

In May 2018, she received the Rosie Award for “Best Original Musical Score Drama Under 30 Minutes” from the Alberta Media Production Industries Association for her work on Falling Through the Cracks: Greg’s Story, a dramatic short film based out of Calgary, Alberta. After relocating to Los Angeles to study Film Scoring at UCLA, she interned with Hans Zimmer’s team, Remote Control Productions. She most recently scored a dramatic film called Fresh Start, created by Canadian director Dana Thody, a silent horror film by the title of Hors D’Oeuvre, directed by the talented Aleksandra Svetlichnaya of the Dinnerverse Series, and an inspiring romantic film supporting the  LGBTQ+ community called To You, created and directed by the spectacular Mary Ann Pianka.
